Let's
encourage ALL of our students to be eager readers!
How?
- Please
initial your child’s Zoom Into Reading sheet for every 15 minutes she/he
reads at home.
- Once
you have initialed each box on your child’s Zoom Into Reading sheet,
please have your child submit it to her/his teacher.
Each sheet represents 5 hours of reading.
We would like each student to read at
least 10 hours each quarter. Students are
encouraged to go above and beyond!
- Your
student should obtain a new Zoom Into Reading sheet when she/he submits a
completed one.

Recognition
- Class
progress will be graphed on a chart outside of Mrs. Weiss’, Miss K's, and
Mr. Humay's rooms..
- All
students who meet their goal each quarter will be recognized individually
with a certificate and incentive.
- All
classes who meet their goal
s each quarter will be recognized with a certificate and incentive.
- At
the end of the year, all students who have read at least 40 hours will
receive special recognition and be entered into a raffle for a $50 gift
certificate to a bookstore.
At the end of the year, the three students who have read the most number
of hours will receive gift certificates to a bookstore ($100 gift certificate
for the student with the highest number of hours read and $75 gift certificate
for the students with the second and third highest number of hours read).
